The Evolution, and Repetition, of Beer Commercials
Corona has a new “Creation Fantasy” commercial out that AdAge describes as:
Reminding us of James Mitchner’s ‘Hawaii,’ a book that tells the story of the modern island chain’s life by starting way back at the volcanic creation of the land itself, this Mexican beer spot also returns us to the days of primordial ooze. Then, it catapults us onto a modern beach in the same spot, where the scene’s finishing touch is two luminous yellow bottles of Corona clinked down between a set of beach chairs.
I think it’s more than a bit reminiscent of something else: The Guinness Evolution commercial. Here is a still of the Corona commercial, as I don’t have a link I can post of the video.

Besides being a better beer, I think Guinness has the superior commercial. It starts in the present day and creatively rewinds through history to show that good things come to those who wait.

I believe that Beer commercials are always the best and that comes from someone that hates beer.

I think you’ve got to be really creative to come up with a beer ad campaign. I mean, how on Earth will you convince people to drink an addicting substance that kills brain cells and damages your liver? Gotta love Guinness…

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Maybe that’s the basis of the old “Guinness Makes You Strong” campaign?

Guiness have always been very innovative with their adverts - thumbs up to their ad guys. However a good ad in no way means you are invincible - who can forget the classic Carling Black label ads of the 1980′2 which made them a household name - where are they now? tanzanite
